UDS operates a multi-campus system with the main campus in Tamale. The University provides programmes across Pure and Applied Sciences, Health and Allied Sciences, Agricultural Sciences, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Education, Engineering, Social Sciences, Law, Business, Communication and Media Studies, and Fine Arts. The University runs a trimester system that integrates classroom instruction with a compulsory Third Trimester Field Practical Programme. This model enables students to apply academic knowledge to real development challenges and to gain direct community experience.
Students benefit from supportive academic advising, accessible faculty engagement, and a learning environment that respects cultural and religious plurality. International students receive dedicated support through the Directorate of International Relations and Advancement, which coordinates admissions guidance, orientation, immigration processes, and welfare services.
Beyond the classroom, students participate in active campus life that includes academic associations, sports, cultural engagement, and volunteering initiatives. Graduates join an alumni network that remains connected to the University’s mission of advancing knowledge for development.
Choosing UDS means joining a university committed to rigorous scholarship, practical engagement, and responsible leadership within Ghana and the wider global community.
