Prof. Samuel J. Cobbina is an Associate Professor of the Faculty of Natural Resources and Environment (FNRE) of the University for Development Studies. He has a PhD in Environmental Science and Engineering from Jiangsu University and an MPhil. in Environmental Science from the University of Ghana. He has extensive experience in research and teaching spanning a period of eighteen years in the field of water quality monitoring and assessment, toxicological health risk assessment of environmentally relevant toxicants and pollution control. Prof. Cobbina has several publications in referred journals and has chaired various committees in the Faculty of Natural Resources and Environment.
He is currently the Dean of FNRE and also the Industrial Liaison Coordinator of the West African Center for Water, Irrigation and Sustainable Agriculture (WACWISA). He also served as a Vice Dean, Head of Department and Faculty Quality Assurance Officer in FNRE. He has been involved in various projects funded by organizations such as CIDA, UNICEF, IUCN, UNESCO/SIDA, WB and the Ford Foundation. He is a recipient of fellowships from DANIDA, NUFFIC and the Jiangsu University.
