Background

Mr. Mohammed Hamza is a lecturer at Department for Peace and Security studies, Faculty of Sustainable Development Studies, UDS. He is deeply passionate about mentoring young academics and is open to various forms of collaborations. He is dedicated to imparting knowledge and fostering critical thinking among students. 

Mr. Mohammed Hamza is currently a doctoral candidate in Development Studies. He completed his Mphil in Development Studies, BA in Business Studies (Accounting) and Diploma in Business Studies at the University for Development Studies. 
Mr. Mohammed Hamza has many years of experience in research and data collection, having undertaken consultations for a number of local and international institutions, including GIZ, Ghana Statistical Service, Ghana Institute of Engineering (GhIE), Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research (PIK), Energy Commission, Ghana Health Service, Ministry of Agric etc.  

He has also participated in numerous summits, both local and international, including Springboard Road Show Entrepreneurial Development, Data Bank Leadership, Regional Climb Up Conference, Focus Central Ghana, Exit Strategy Summit, International Conference on Ethnic and Religious Conflict Resolution and Peace building, Wheeler Institute for Business and Development (London Business School).

Before joining UDS Mr. Mohammed Hamza worked with Matiti Child Foundation as their Project Coordinator. He is the founder and executive director of Care Network Africa (CNA) and International Center for Sustainable Peace and Security (ICSPS).  

His research interests include conflict, conflict financing, chieftaincy conflicts, security, peace building, development, endogenous development, international relations and migration, terrorism and counter terrorism, conflict and human security, Alternative Dispute Resolution, Cyber Security etc.
