Background
Prof. Franklin Nantui Mabe is a distinguished Associate Professor of Agricultural Economics. He has over 10 years of working experience in teaching, research and development work. With both a PhD and an MPhil in Agricultural Economics from prestigious universities in Ghana, Prof. Franklin Nantui Mabe is well-grounded in teaching and research in the field of agricultural socioeconomics. He has extensive experience in teaching, research, and development work. His research interests are agricultural productivity analysis, agricultural policy analysis, impact evaluation of projects, environmental and resource economics, economics of climate change and precision agriculture. He has published over 50 refereed journal articles and 5 book chapters. He has also presented research findings at several local and international conferences. Franklin has consulted for many international and local organizations and won several research grants/consultancies from USAID, Solidaridad West Africa, Ghana Developing Communities Association (GDCA), African Development Bank, International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA), WASCAL, Global Shea Alliance, Oxfam Ghana, Kinvia (Previously Canada Feed the Children), International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI), etc.
Prof. Franklin Nantui Mabe is a passionate educator with a high commitment to raising the next generation of researchers. He taught numerous courses at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. These include Resource Economics, Environmental Economics, Advanced Mathematical Methods, Econometric Methods and Applications, Agriculture Development and Policy, Elements of Development Economics and Planning, Basic Mathematics, Environmental and Health Economics, Basic Statistics, Monitoring and Evaluation, Agricultural Project Planning and Analytics, Research Methods and Academic Writing.
Currently, Prof. Franklin Nantui Mabe is the Director for the Centre for Agricultural Productivity and Policy Studies (CAPPS) at the University for Development Studies. He has previously held several positions, including Senior Hall Tutor for Non-Residential Students, Head of Department, Faculty Coordinator of Third Trimester Field Practical Programme and Department Quality Assurance Officer. He was the Vice President of the University for Development Studies Branch of the University Teachers Association of Ghana from 2017 to 2018.
