Background

Prof. Abdulai Abubakari (PhD) is Associate Professor in the Sociology and Social Work Department. He holds a PhD in Development Sociology from the University of Ghana. He is currently the Vice Dean, Faculty of Social Sciences. Before moving to the Faculty of Social Science, he served as the Institute for Interdisciplinary Research Director. He previously served as a senior Research Fellow, became the Deputy Director, and finally the Director.

Prof. Abdulai has extensive experience in research, teaching, and community services. He has worked with numerous donor-funded projects and the recent one is the “Access-Authority Nexus in Famer-Herder Conflicts (AAN) Project funded by Danida. Prof. Abdulai’s research interest areas include social conflicts, sociology of health, sociology of education, and pastoralism.
