UDS Cadet Corps Introduces New Leadership to Principal

The University for Development Studies (UDS) Cadet Corps has formally introduced its new leadership team to the Principal of the Nyankpala Campus, Professor Mohammed Muniru Iddrisu.

The new Cadet Coordinator (CC), Dogli Kwadwo Hanson, led a delegation of cadet officers to the Principal's office, where they were warmly received.

During the meeting, Dogli Kwadwo Hanson, introduced his team as Deputy Coordinator, Abdul-Mumin Yakubu; Officer Commanding (Head of Operations), Awuni Tijani,  including the 2nd In Command, Cadet Adjutant, Regimental Sergeant Major, and Cadet Police. He also outlined the corps' plans and objectives for the academic year, including community service projects, support for the university, training exercises, organisation of cadet camps, and academic support programmes.

Professor Iddrisu welcomed the new leadership team and commended them for their dedication and commitment to the corps. He also emphasized the importance of discipline, teamwork, and academic excellence, urging the cadets to strive for excellence in all their endeavours. He added that in planning their activities, they should be mindful of their primary objectives for coming to the university. I am confident that you would be able to combine your academic work with your cadet activities he said. He urged the leadership to work through the Vice Dean of students, Professor Sanatu Mustapha Alidu.

"I am impressed with the caliber of leaders introduced to me, and I am confident that you will make a positive impact on the university community," Professor Iddrisu said. The Principal also assured the cadets of his support and cooperation, promising to work closely with them to achieve their objectives. The Principal and Acting Campus Officer received the leadership of the Cadet Corps in his office.

The Acting Campus Officer, Mr Joseph S. Attiah, in welcoming the new leadership, urged them not to be overzealous of the cadet activities to the detriment of their academic work. He added that he was going to link them with the University Security work in collaboration to protect the lives and property of the university. He tasked them to always send their planned activities far in advance to allow management time to deliberate on them. He applauded them for their initiative to formally introduce themselves to the Principal.

The UDS Cadet Corps is a voluntary student organization that provides training in military discipline, leadership, and community service. The corps has a strong reputation for producing well-disciplined and responsible leaders who make valuable contributions to society.

With the introduction of the new leadership team to the Principal, the UDS Cadet Corps is poised to continue its tradition of excellence and service to the university and the wider community.
