UDS central defender Jonas Agyemontor is recovering well after sustaining a head injury during the final of the 12th All-Africa University Games in Cairo, Egypt.
Jonas was elbowed by a Guinean attacker during the fiercely contested match and was subsequently taken to an Egyptian hospital for medical attention.
According to the team doctor, Dr John Kase, who accompanied him to the hospital, Jonas suffered a cut to the head, which was successfully stitched. He is in good condition and should be able to return to action within a few days.
Jonas remains one of UDS’s most important and decorated players. He was part of the team that won the African championship in Nigeria, conquered the world in China and has now lifted the African title once again in Egypt.
We wish our champion defender a speedy and complete recovery!
